SGSF FIA Task Force

The SGSF FIA Task Force represents the best interest of the State Foresters in the development and the implementation of the forest inventory and analysis.

The Task Force works in cooperation with the Southern Research Station Forest Inventory and Analysis Research Unit to:

• Implement and complete annual inventories in participating Southern States.
• Provide interaction and communications between state coordinators. Work with the SRS FIA staff in developing and recommending guidelines for program development and implementation.
• Convey unresolved issues to the Southern FIA Management Team.

The Task Force is composed of representatives from each state FIA program and one representative from the SRS FIA Research Unit. A representative from the Task Force is appointed to serve on the Southern FIA Management Team. Task Force members serve on the National FIA Technical Bands-Statistics Band, Information Management Band, Data Acquisition Band, Remote Sensing Band, Analysis Band, and Indicator Advisory Band.

In addition to Task Force Members on the National FIA Technical Bands, the SGSF has representatives on the National Executive Team (State Forester) and the National Management Team.
