SGSF Research Committee
The Research Committee addresses forest research issues of regional concern.
The Committee is composed of three members: two representatives from the Southern Group of State Foresters and one representative from the Southern Research Station. They work in conjunction with the Forest Service, Southern Research Station (SRS) and State and Private Forestry Unit, universities, and others in addressing needs recommended by the SGSF.
Collectively, the Committee advises, guides and supports the Southern Group of State Foresters' (SGSF) with responses to priority and emerging issues, development and implementation of policies, programs and procedures affecting Southern forest resource research. They also help with the inventory and analysis of natural resource information pertinent to State Foresters and state forestry organizations.
Additionally, the Committee seeks input from other SGSF Committees on short- term applied research needs and makes recommendations to the SGSF.
